We're launching a brand new series of articles!

This is a brand new space for local writers, music lovers, promoters, and passionate individuals in the Leeds music scene to express what’s on their minds. We believe it’s more important than ever to share the experiences of those directly involved - shining a light on the amazing community that forms the foundation of Leeds' independent music scene.

At arguably one of the toughest times to run events, open venues, or even find space, it’s essential not to forget about the vibrant community still keeping the scene alive in our city.

What to Expect

Expect a mix of opinion pieces, interviews, features, and scene spotlights—written by those who live and breathe it. Some names you might recognise, others might be brand-new to you. Either way, this series is designed to amplify local perspectives and keep the community conversation flowing.

If you're interested in contributing, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to hear from you.

Honest Voices

This series isn’t about big headlines or the commercial music industry, it’s about real stories and challenges from the people contributing to and sustaining the Leeds scene. Whether it’s reflections on DIY events, thoughts on current issues, or perspectives on music and culture, we want this to be a space for authentic voices to be heard.

We’re not the only ones

Of course, we’re definitely not the only ones spotlighting local talent. Leeds is lucky to have a scene of events, and workshops all doing incredible for the community. Alto Radio, for example - broadcasting out of the newly opened venue TESTBED, they host weekly shows featuring artists who are actively shaping the local scene. Or NARR Radio, based at The Imaginarium in the city centre, another brilliant space dedicated to platforming local talent. The teams behind these online music hubs deserve serious praise - and we’re excited to talk more of them in future articles.

Want to write for us?

Get in touch if you have something you want to write about, we're welcoming all Leeds-based music lovers to get involved.
